Azhar Majeed's Law Review Article on Piercing Qualified Immunity Now on 'The Lantern'

Â鶹´«Ã½IOS is pleased to announce that Azhar Majeed's article on the piercing of qualified immunity for violations of public university students' free speech rights, published in the Cardozo Public Law, Policy & Ethics Journal, is now available on The Lantern, Â鶹´«Ã½IOS's online academic journal.
In the article, Azhar, Â鶹´«Ã½IOS's Associate Director of Legal and Public Advocacy, argues that given the clear state of the law on speech codes, administrators responsible for maintaining unconstitutional speech codes at public universities should not be shielded by the defense of qualified immunity against personal liability for monetary damages. Furthermore, he contends that qualified immunity should not protect administrators in the most common types of applied free speech violations. The article deepens important arguments that Â鶹´«Ã½IOS has long made with regard to violations of the First Amendment on public university campuses.
