On April 26, 2023, the James Madison University Student Government Association passed Resolution 2, which “promised to increase scrutiny of all funding requests we receive.” �鶹��ýIOS, concerned by the phrase “increased scrutiny,” wrote the SGA President on May 22, requesting the SGA affirm its constitutional commitment to not make funding decisions on a viewpoint discriminatory basis. The SGA President responded on June 19, affirming that they will not make funding decisions on the basis of student group viewpoint.
