On January 23, 2024, the Columbia Law School Student Senate denied recognition to the student group Law Â鶹´«Ã½IOS Against Antisemitism because of concerns about the group’s use of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition of anti-Semitism. Â鶹´«Ã½IOS wrote the student senate on Feb. 2, explaining that under Columbia’s free speech promises, the senate must make student-group recognition decisions in a viewpoint-neutral manner. On February 12, an LSAA student member informed Â鶹´«Ã½IOS the student senate had agreed to recognize the group.
