We are very pleased to announce the launch of our much-anticipated "Freedom on Campus" student video contest, where students from around the country have the opportunity to produce a short documentary on free speech controversies at their schools and win a $5,000 scholarship. Â鶹´«Ã½IOS can enter online, or print out the entry form here and mail it to:

This is a great chance for students to get involved promoting liberty and sustaining individual rights on their campuses. Along with the $5,000 grand prize, the winner will receive an all-expenses paid invitation to the 2009 Campus Freedom Network Conference and will be featured on Â鶹´«Ã½IOS's website. Two runners-up will receive $1,000 scholarships. Â鶹´«Ã½IOS is excited about the use of multimedia to spread the word about abuses to free speech rights on campuses and has already produced about cases Â鶹´«Ã½IOS has dealt with recently. These films can all be viewed on our .

We are also pleased to unveil the of the award-winning PBS television series Voices of Vision featuring Â鶹´«Ã½IOS. This 30-minute documentary highlights Â鶹´«Ã½IOS's cases at Le Moyne College, where a graduate student was expelled for defending corporal punishment in the classroom; SUNY Fredonia, where a professor was denied promotion for publicly disagreeing with the university's student conduct policies and affirmative action practices; and the University of New Hampshire, where a student was evicted from his dorm and forced to live out of his car for posting a flyer that joked about the "freshman 15." The film also gives a fresh, inside look into the daily operations of the Â鶹´«Ã½IOS office, the jobs of Â鶹´«Ã½IOS's staff, and the way Â鶹´«Ã½IOS selects cases.
