Â鶹´«Ã½IOS Welcomes David Deerson

Â鶹´«Ã½IOS is delighted to welcome David Deerson to our staff as a program associate for Â鶹´«Ã½IOS Campus Outreach! David joins the growing Â鶹´«Ã½IOS Student Network team as we gear up for our annual summer conference and make exciting outreach plans for this summer and for back-to-school season in the fall. David’s history with Â鶹´«Ã½IOS as a 2011 summer intern and an active participant of Â鶹´«Ã½IOS’s programs, along with his professional experience, make him a fantastic addition to our team as we work to expand our network of students, faculty, and alumni dedicated to defending civil liberties on their campuses.
David is a 2013 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) with a B.A. in philosophy and history and a minor in philosophy, politics, and economics (PPE). While in school, he served as president of the UNC Young Americans for Liberty, with whom he won YAL’s national free speech activism award. His undergraduate activism also earned him a spot in Â鶹´«Ã½IOS’s Prometheus Society. David joins Â鶹´«Ã½IOS after gaining experience working professionally in college outreach and activism coordination at Â鶹´«Ã½IOS For Liberty.
David will be one of the inaugural staff members based in our new Washington, D.C., office. We are excited to have David on staff, so please join us in welcoming him!
