The Coalition of Some Other Dudes and the Range of an M1-A1 Tank
In response to the censorship and punishment by Colorado College of a flyer that was an obvious parody, another group of students has published a new issue of "The Monthly Bag."
These authors, again pseudonymous, are The Coalition of Some Other Dudes. These dudes are, by report, three men and one woman. Yes, women can be dudes.
These authors also juxtapose "weaponry and sexuality." This time, information about another sexual position is juxtaposed with statistics on the range of the M1-A1 tank and commentary about "Men's roles in modern warfare."
President Celeste, Colorado College can never be too careful. This could be a real threat! I urge you to act immediately.
Other information on the flyer includes "Word to Know! 'Censor'" (quoting Dictionary.com), more "Tough Guy Wisdom" from Winston Churchill and Mark Twain, and much more. Here is the quotation from Twain:
It is by the goodness of God that in our country we have those three unspeakably precious things: freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, and the prudence never to practice either of them.
It's good to know that a few people at Colorado College still have a sense of humor.
Meanwhile, another week has passed with no action by the committee hearing the appeal of the Coalition of Some Dudes. All Colorado College needs to do at this point is declare the students not guilty and remove the letter of sanction from their files. Barring that, the ridicule of Colorado College will continue to pile up.
